🎸 📕 Over the course of more than a decade, Brussels-based @rayarayax – co-founder of art collective @blood.becomes.water – built an accidental collection of setlists: a growing archive of torn papers, ripped cardboard and smudged ink, left behind by 70 bands across 13 countries.

“Arch Future” at Xavier Hufkens in Brussels op

“Arch Future” at Xavier Hufkens in Brussels opened last week: An expansive solo show presenting the wide-ranging, multi-genre oeuvre of Chilean poet and artist Cecilia Vicuña, who was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale.

Heavily influenced by having been forced into exile during the military coup in the 1970s, themes of language, memory, feminism and extinction dominate her work.

Through site-specific installations, drawings, paintings, poetry, sound, and film, she addresses the power of collective activism versus the effects of unbridled capitalism and environmental destruction, and has spent decades reclaiming the indigenous knowledge of her homeland and positioning it in dialogue with our contemporary world.
