Antwerp’s Tique art space currently presents a group exhibition that examines the use of the photographic image as a starting point for various works of art in different genres from sculpture and installation to painting. The expo explores these blurry borders between disciplines, featuring works by Manor Grunewald, Dries Segers, and many others.

Eat & drink: SUP opening

SUP is a project launched by three friends Géraldine, Dane and Amélie. With their food joint that’s part restaurant, part take away, they want to revive the traditional soups of their grandmothers while giving them a modern touch. This Thursday you’re invited to the opening of their Ixelles branch.

German painting star Georg Baselitz, Belgian charcoal virtuoso Rinus Van De Velde, skateboarder-turned-photographer Ed Templeton, … The current group expo at Antwerp’s Tim Van Laere gallery brings together an impressive and rather unlikely selection of artists of all genres and generations. The show, which solely focuses on drawings, offers an exciting mix of different approaches and styles.

Concert: The Fratellis & Recorders at De Kreun

After a joint mini tour with stops in London, Birmingham and Manchester as well as a guest appearance by bass player Barry Fratelli on Recorders’ debut album “Above The Tide” and at their sold-out show at Botanique, Scottish rockers The Fratellis and the Belgian fivesome reunite once again. This Friday you can experience both bands live on stage at Kortrijk’s De Kreun, when the Scotsmen present their brand new record “Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied” while indie rockers Recorders play the last show of their “Above The Tide” tour.

Fashion meets party: Mad Night

American Indie rock veterans Yo La Tengo, who celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, are back with a new record called “Stuff Like That There”, a charming blend of covers (The Cure, Hank Williams, …) and newly written songs that revisits the concept of their famed Fakebook album. This Sunday you can see the foursome live on stage at Leuven’s Het Depot.
