Art meets video: Apología/Antología at Beursschouwburg

“Apología/Antología: Video Itineraries through the Spanish Context”, happening at Brussels culture center Beursschouwburg, invites film and art buffs to discover audiovisual artistic creation made in Spain. A workshop and a screening at the same time, it’s a great way to dive into the subject, learn about setting up an online viewing platform (16h00), and get to know the work of Barcelona-based libertarian collective Video-Nou (21h00).
Opening: Yto Barrada at M Museum

French-Moroccan artist Yto Barrada, who was born in Paris but grew up in Tangier, repeatedly explores the peculiar situation of her hometown Tangier in her work, which ranges across photographs, films, publications, installations and sculptures. In this exhibition at Leuven’s M Museum, she deals with the duality of authenticity and tradition in Moroccan history, examining fossils, children’s games or the ethnographic museum, among other things.
