Group expo: Inhabited by Objects at CAB

French metal artisan and self-taught architect and designer Jean Prouvé, today a major reference in the field, is best remembered for his pioneering role in the pre-fabricated housing movement. CAB’s fascinating group expo shows Belgian and international artists opening up a dialogue with his 6x6m demountable house, produced in 1944 and based on his signature portal frame principle.

Film meets music: Saints at Het Bos

“Saints”, a documentary film by Belgium-based director Dieter Deswarte, is an exploration of isolation. Shot on the remote island of Saint Helena, a five-day boat journey away from the nearest mainland, it shows how the construction of the long awaited airport impacts the local community. The exotic and gently paced soundtrack was provided by Antwerp electronic producer Hiele, a perfect fit for the project. At Het Bos you can experience both at the same time: the screening is accompanied with a live performance by the composer together with clarinettist Valgerður Sigurðardóttir. What’s more: Antwerp food collective Otark will mix cocktails. So stop by to watch, sip & listen!
Art night: Museumnacht Gent

Urban Crafts: Maker.Street at Rue de Laeken

For 5 years now the Urban Crafts initiative promotes craftsmenship in Belgium by bringing together young creative people who passionately practice a craft in a contemporary manner, giving them the chance to exchange of skills, experience and stimulate collaborations. From 1 to 18 December you can discover the creation of the next generation of urban crafters through an exhibition of a different kind: their works are presented in the shop windows of Brussels’ Rue de Laeken, a street full of artisn studios with a real sense of community that even has its own Facebook page.
Night out: Vicuna Winter Swag on a boat

The vicuna is an animal living in the alpine areas of the South American Andes and is a relative of the llama and alpaca. Plus, it’s the name of a party concept in Belgium championing vinyls and innovative music.
