Art festival: Bâtard 2017 at Beursschouwburg

Bâtard offers a five-day programme of theatre, dance, performance, film, installation and video art. The festival’s goal: to support emerging artists by giving them a platform to show their work. With Hana Miletic, Ilke Gers, Lulu Obermayer, and many others.
Exhibition: Anke Weyer at Tim Van Laere
Until 2 December Antwerp
German-American artist Anke Weyer exhibits at Tim Van Laere for the very first time, showing a selection of her signature oil and acrylic paintings. Characterised by energetic brush marks, drips, wipes and scrubbing, Anke’s compositional choices are made in the moment, both conscious- and impulsively: speed triumphs over composition. The exhibition also includes a series of pastel drawings that follow the same procedure.

Flow Interior, an agency representing young design brands and implementing interior projects, empties its beautiful showroom this weekend. On the occasion you can get your hands on pieces such as the stylish green coffee tables from Foxy Potato – at lower prices.
Performance festival: ACTUS V
From 6 to 11 November Brussels
Since 2012 Actus is giving a platform to performance art with a focus on experimentation and reflection. Every edition is built around encounters: between spaces, cities, artists of different origins, students, teachers, the public, … This 5th edition invites international artists of a new generation, which together create a performance at MAAC and at the Abbaye de la Cambre, for example. Night out I: Music Mania at Bar Wilson

Ghent’s most famous record shop and Bar Wilson team up every first Friday of the month for a night musically curated by Music Mania DJs Lorin and Borat. Wilson is the central meeting place within NEST, a temporary cultural project in the premises of the former city library.
