Good news for brunch lovers: you don’t have to wait for your next trip to America anymore to devour a juicy breakfast burrito. CHEZWawa now serves Mexican brunch in Brussels.
A little bit more than a year ago Brussels finally got its own California-style roll-your-own-way burrito joint: CHEZWaWa, opened by San Francisco-born Palmer Colamarino. Having gone to school in the city’s Mission neighbourhood, a traditional taqueria stronghold and cradle of the burrito, he definitely knows what he’s doing.
Instead of a classic menu, the restaurant has a roll-your-own-burrito counter, a kind of assembly line where customers can get creative, pick the ingredients they like, from beans, rice, meat and tofu to cheese, guacamole, different salsas and more. “There isn’t that one perfect burrito. It all depends on how you like it,” Palmer explains.
But now CHEZWaWa has an additional treat in store: Brussels’ first Mexican brunch buffet. It includes the legendary breakfast burrito filled with scrambled eggs, veggies, and more as well as an all-you-can-eat offer featuring a multitude of both sweet and salty Cali-Mex dishes. Definite highlights: the Chili-Cheese corn bread and the Banana Chimichangas! Another plus: there’s unlimited free coffee and tea (rare for a Brussels brunch!) and dogs are welcome.
Make sure to reserve a table in advance!
